Dare 2 Dream Team Arrives Port-Harcourt, UNIPORT Selection Kicks Off Big!
Things heat up for the Dare 2 Dream initiative as the team moves to Port Harcourt!
Following the kick-off of the Dare 2 Dream initiative with a press conference which held at the Federal Palace Hotel on Monday 27th October, Day 2 got off to an eventful start as the team arrived Port-Harcourt via Dana Air for the selection process.
Uniport was the first port of call as the team arrived there by 10am and went straight into the registration of candidates numbering into hundreds of girls. On the panel of jurors were Thecla Winklie (presenter from NTA), Didi Oliveira (London based stylist) and Caterina Bortolussi (Creative Director at Kinabuti).
The day was full of surprises as contestants performed songs showing that they dare 2 dream. Thecla also used her reporting skills to ask daring questions and most of the candidates managed to get the jurors and audience intrigued.
Later on, Chineye Akuwke from Golden Penny spoke about the importance of nutrition while the super sleek Head of Corporate Communication FCMB, Uchenna Mojekwu also addressed the audience, encouraging women to live up to their fullest potential. Remi Sanusi also performed on stage with the students.
The Dare 2 Dream team also selected the performing artists for the finale at UNIPORT where the 6 girls that will make it to Lagos will be selected. The jurors and audience alike were thrilled by the performances and Thecla Wilkie offered 2 performers the opportunity to join her in Lagos as guests on the Saturday Night show on NTA. It was a moment dreams are made of.
At the end of the day, the candidates were narrowed to 15 girls who will proceed to the next level. Stick with us as we continue to bring you updates from the Dare 2 Dream team's search for THE ONE.
The Dare 2 Dream initiative is co-produced by Pulse. Other sponsors include FCMB, Dana Air, Golden Penny and the Richard Coker Foundation.
