The eyewitness news reporter for WABC had just finished a live report in Woodhaven, Queens on March 19 when the aneurysm occurred, according to reports. Lisa was rushed to the hospital but never regained consciousness. She passed away on March 20.

Lisa was returning from a live report at the scene of a four-alarm fire in Woodhaven, Queens on March 19 when she realized something was wrong, according to New York Daily News. “She was in the news van after finishing her live shot when she said ‘Oh my God, something is wrong,’ ” a friend told the outlet.She was immediately taken to the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center’s neurological ICU after suffering the aneurysm. Lisa was put on life support but never woke up. Her family was by her side throughout her stay at the hospital.
The team at WABC-TV was shocked and saddened by the news of Lisa’s death.
“Lisa will be terribly missed,” said Camille Edwards, News Director at Channel 7. “Her bright smile and big blue eyes lit up our newsroom. She was a reporter with two wonderful qualities: grace and grit.”
She joined WABC-TV just days after the World Trade Center tragedy in 2001. Before joining the WABC-TV team, she served as a main news anchor for WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida and reported for stations in Ohio, Alabama and West Virginia.
Lisa is survived by her husband and two sons, ages 11 and 14. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lisa’s family at this time.
